  17.      The statistics concerning chickenpox are astounding.  Each year 3.5 to 4
  18. million people are affected, the largest numbers falling ill in the winter and
  19. spring.  About 2 out of every 1000 patents will be so severely ill they will
  20. require hospitalization for proper treatment.  It is estimated that this
  21. disease will cause from 40 to 90 deaths each year, astounding for a "simple"
  22. childhood disease.  But it affects adults as well and they are 25 times more
  23. likely to die from chicken pox than children.  These facts, as well as much
